ST-100 is an array processor that is capable of performing 100 millionfloating-point operations per second (MFLOPS). This multi-user,multihost system provides supercomputer speed for a variety ofcomputationally-intensive tasks including image processing, molecularmodeling, simulation, radar, and digital signal processing. Parallelpipelined computation units and a 40-nanosecond synchronous clock provideextremely high throughput. Typical arithmetic performance as follows:- 1K Complex FFT 619.4 millisecond.

ST-100 has four programmable processors dedicated to controllingarithmetic processing, internal data flow, external input/output of data,and the synchronization of the other three processors. Arithmetic unitdata transfer is achieved by hierarchical data memory managementincorporating a storage move processor; a large, directly-addressablemain memory; and high-speed data cache.
